Nanci R. Hibschman, Managing Principal
Nanci Hibschman is a Managing Principal at SullivanCotter and leads our C3 Nonprofit Consulting Group. With over 25 years in the field, Nanci exclusively advises on compensation, benefits, organization design, performance and governance strategies to private and community foundations; service and charitable entities; policy, advocacy and research organizations; higher education and independent schools; associations; and other nonprofit groups.
Nanci’s experience includes:
- Helping boards and management leaders develop compensation philosophies and programs for executives and staff, including salary, bonus/incentive and benefits programs that support the strategic objectives of the organizations and advance the success of their missions.
- Performing staff cash compensation and benefits studies, including salary structure development, pay equity analysis, job titling/leveling review and change implementation, all aimed at attracting and retaining high-quality, mission-driven talent.
- Translating market intelligence and trends to educate boards, committees and management on governance practices in the nonprofit sector.
- Developing performance metrics and incentives to recruit and reward top fundraising and investment talent.
- Preparing formal opinion letters regarding the reasonableness of compensation provided to disqualified persons of 501(c)(3) organizations in support of federal and state regulations.
- Partnering with boards to enhance the effectiveness of group dynamics and assist with governance duties, such as self-assessments, board succession planning, compensation evaluation and oversight.
As an author and subject matter expert on the topic of compensation best practices for tax-exempt organizations, Nanci is an annual organizer and speaker for the Foundation HR Alliance and at various tax law and other conferences across the country, including Georgetown University Law School’s Representing and Managing Tax-Exempt Organizations conference in Washington, D.C. She has also presented at the national conferences of SHRM and WorldatWork.
Prior to joining SullivanCotter, she was a partner at a global human resources consulting firm, leading the tax-exempt organization practice.
Nanci earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of San Diego and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
Amanda Wethington, Principal
Amanda Wethington is a Principal at C3 Nonprofit Consulting Group. With over 20 years of experience delivering compensation and workforce performance solutions across industries, she leverages data-driven insights to help organizations design total rewards, recognition, and talent management programs.
In her role at C3 Nonprofit Consulting Group, Amanda is a trusted advisor to clients, including private and community foundations, service and charitable organizations, policy and research institutes, and cultural organizations. She partners with nonprofits to design competitive, fair and equitable compensation programs to attract, retain, and motivate high-quality, mission-driven talent.
Amanda’s experience includes:
- Performing cash compensation and benefits studies, including salary structure development, pay equity analysis, job titling/leveling review, performance management and change implementation.
- Supporting boards and executive leadership in the development of compensation philosophies and programs aligned with an organization’s mission, vision and values.
- Managing a team of experienced consultants to enhance client engagement and ensure the delivery of effective rewards strategies, incentive design projects, and performance and pay equity solutions.
- Studying the living wage and helping nonprofits adopt a living wage program to support employee well-being and internal equity.
- Preparing formal opinion letters regarding the reasonableness of compensation provided to disqualified persons of 501(c)(3) organizations.

Prior to joining C3 Nonprofit Consulting Group, Amanda led the Workforce Rewards Practice as a Senior Principal at a global management consulting firm. She also spent over 10 years working in human resources and compensation at Hyatt Hotels.
Amanda attended the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business where she earned her Master of Business Administration degree.
