Pay transparency is coming — in a big way. California’s “Fair Pay Transparency” law is one of the more recent additions to the growing number of cities and states mandating more disclosures. We’re also seeing a shift toward more employees sharing their pay on any number of sites, from RepVue to TikTok. This much is clear: What you pay your people will be public very soon. With compensation under the microscope, employers are changing the way they approach compensation management and thinking about how they can best demonstrate they value their employees. This session will address some of the existing and emerging disclosure requirements and how organizations are building greater analytical capabilities to rethink and refine their pay programs and prepare for pay transparency.

Our panel of speakers will be:
Nancy Romanyshyn, Syndio
Nancy is the Director of Pay Strategy and Partner Success at Syndio. She is a Fair Pay thought leader, speaker, and compensation expert. With 25+ years of experience, both as an in-house Compensation leader and leading engagements as a broad-based compensation consultant. She joined Syndio after over 20 years with Willis Towers Watson where she led their global fair pay program for 5+ years.
Shantel Pieratt, Syndio
Shantel is a Senior Account Executive at Syndio and is a lawyer turned analytics and tech guru. With over a decade of experience practicing law and advising clients, Shantel’s works with companies in their fair pay journey in helping them achieve internal and external workplace equity.
Summer Houssainy, UC Irvine
Summer is a Certified Global Remuneration Professional (GRP), and a seasoned expert in Compensation and Pay Equity with over a decade of experience in Total Rewards. Summer earned her undergraduate degree in Business with an emphasis in Human Resources Management from California State University in Long Beach (CSULB) and Master of Business Administration from the University of California in Irvine (UCI). After earning her MBA, Summer was recruited by UCI as a Fair Pay Specialist to implement their first Fair Pay Program, taking the lead in the UC system in driving efforts to close the gender pay gap.
Prior to UCI, Summer served as a Compensation subject matter expert in various industries including software, financial services, and real estate. Summer is well versed in data analytics, audit and compliance, and compensation policies and practices.
Dawn M. McKinley, UC Irvine
Dawn is the Senior Director of Total Rewards and Strategic Workforce Planning and a member of UCI’s HR Partnership for Strategy and Innovation, Dawn leads and manages a variety of HR programs such as ACHIEVE Performance, Merit Pay, Career Tracks Classification, and Fair Pay.
Dawn has over 30 years of compensation experience with a focus in compensation strategy and program design, and is a Certified Compensation Professional and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional.
Dawn has worked in higher education for over 15 years with 10 of those years being at UCI.
